STREET NEIGHBOURZ!!! New project. Free download.

Fresh from the city-fringe suburbs of Auckland, NZ, Street Neighbourz is Western Springs’ newest musical duo.

Their debut single ‘Noise Control’ is about having a party with all your neighbours so nobody killz your buzz and calls noise control.

Street Neighbourz are real life actual neighbours, musicians Anna Coddington and Jason Smith. After a couple of neighbourly jams they decided to write a song together, and the new music genre ‘neighbourhood funk’ was born. Rubbish day is Tuesday, and the recycling truck comes less frequently, but you can usually figure it out by looking at how many other people’s blue bins are out on the street.

Noise Control is available as a FREE download via Bandcamp or Soundcloud

Dick Johnson’s lovely disco-esque remix of Noise Control is also available for free download on Soundcloud

Free show @ Sale St, Auckland Sun Nov 4th.

Songs To Leave Behind- Nelson Arts Fest Oct 17

Anna will join Don McGlashan and Julia Deans to revisit the show that received a standing ovation last year at the Christchurch Arts Festival. Asked to think about mortality, they celebrate the power of song in this spell-binding and intimate performance. The first song is the song that turned them on to music. Next a song from a favourite songwriter. Then the song they wish they had written, a song or two of their own, and finishing with the song they wish to leave behind and be remembered by.

Info and tickets here.
